I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. (1 Timothy 2:1 NLT)
This morning in Sunday school I learned the below scriptures. I’m sure I’ve heard them before, but I’ve never had them introduced as prayers. Our group leader said we should pray these scriptures over our spouse and children. When I started to read them, I immediately felt the praying connection in the words. I thought immediately of sharing these scriptures with you. I knew I had to pray these words over my husband this week and I wanted to share this cool experience with you. We definitely should pray these words over our spouses for more than just a week. But I want to consistently pray these scriptures for at least one week straight.
Later we can pray them as often as desired. I hope you’ll join me. I’ll be praying for my husband as well as yours. Pray for your husband specifically. Use his name where it fits within the scripture. Instead of “you” fill in your husband’s name, instead of “we” fill in with “I”. If it says “they” or “them” substitute it for “he” or “him”, and so forth. Read them and you will see how awesome they are as is, as Paul wrote them. Have a blessed week ladies. Always, praying for us all.
We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all His glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy. (Colossians 1:9-11 NLT)
Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:17-20 NLT)
