Selfish Lovers & Servant Lovers

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3,4 NIV)

I had to share this sermon by Mark Driscoll from his book Real Marriage. I’ve mentioned this book and study. I’ve also recommended this study to all couples. It is listed on the Digging Deep page here on the blog. Truly worth every minute spent in the Real Marriage book and study guide. Grab your husband, listen, learn, take notes, and hear what the Spirit says to you.

“This is the challenge of marriage: to be a servant lover. To love your spouse like he or she wants and needs to be loved, emotionally and physically. This goes reflected in every room of your house: in the dining room, the kitchen, the family room, and ultimately, the bedroom.” -Real Marriage participant’s guide.
