Days 8 & 9, Chapters 8 & 9:
“For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you can desire can compare with it.” Proverbs 8:11 This is repeated in the book of Proverbs. When words are repeated, it’s best to take note and look into it deeper. What do you hope the new year brings that is different than last year? Wisdom is far more valuable than anything you desire. So before making declarations of change in your life, be wise about them and truly find the steps to make actual change. Write out the steps, pray about the steps to making changes, and discuss them. Have an accountability partner or a wiser person help you along the way. All these things lead to actual change and goals being met in your life. Chapter 8 & 9 remind us to use our common sense, watch our speech, and encourages us to keep going and keep growing in knowledge. These chapters said to me, don’t get complacent thinking you have reached your goals or that you know it all, you can never have enough wisdom and knowledge. “…learn to use good judgement.” Proverbs 9:6.
Dear Lord, help us to use good judgement with each decision we make and in each of our steps. Please be with us in our mistakes and correct us back to the right path. We love you and thank you, in Jesus name, amen. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgement.” Proverbs 9:10
