31 Days of Proverbs: New Year, New Perspective

Day 1, Chapter 1:    Well I don’t know about you but after reading chapter 1 I don’t want to be a simpleton lol. Perfect for this new year we are beginning so is the introduction of Proverbs chapter 1. It tells us the purpose of the proverbs by Solomon and the benefits of listening to wisdom, gaining and retaining wisdom. I read the NLT translation and I find that it speaks directly to me, bold and in my face. No more for ambiguity when reading the NLT translation of chapter 1. What I will keep with me is verse 17. “If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away.” Reading these proverbs will open our minds, awaken our senses, and cause us to be alert to dangers or traps being set for our marriages and our lives. I take comfort in verse 23, “I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.” Let us be wise and listen to God’s voice. Let us be savvy and  share in His counsel. I pray your 2015 be all that your heart desires and that God uses you to bless others. That your marriage be lifted to Him and that it be made strong in Christ forever. May wisdom from the Lord be your guide throughout 2015. In Jesus name, Amen. “But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:33 NLT

  1. Thank you for the blessing & prayer for our marriage.
When I was worshiping the other day I felt the Lord strongly say “Awakening” for me, my family and The Church. Wow. I hope that your marriage and family have an Awakening in Him and in your relationships.
